I recently finished this commissioned piece for a friend. It’s the first commissioned piece I’ve done, and I was pretty nervous that I would hate being told exactly what I was supposed to paint. However I was pleasantly surprised by the experience.
Granted, the leniency of the client helped a lot, but the part of the project that I hadn’t anticipated was the sheer joy of painting something that meant so much to someone. What a lovely experience.
