American Gladiator by Me
I finished this today. It’s Obams and myself on vacation in Capri, Italy. My face looks a little funky because of the camera settings… and because I’m alabastar compared to Mr. Pre$ident.
*also, If you have noticed that Obamski’s right arm looks gargantuan, it is due to 2 reasons:
1) This was the first painting where I’ve tried some severe foreshortening. You can tell that my self-portrait was drawn from a photo that was taken looking down from a height slightly above me. I had to try to mimic this angle for Obama. Thus, his arm really is supposed to be big in comparison with his legs, for example.
2) However, I had to create the foreshortened angle for Obama from scratch without looking at a photo. which sucks. So… I think it might look gargantuan because it is bigger than it’s s’posed to be. Oh well… nothing’s permanent…
