Maximus The Dog (Animal Poem)
by Josh Achtemeier, age 15
I have a dog, his name is Max, and he is pretty darn cool,
Potty trained quickly, rarely barks, never attended pet school,
An enormous under bite that makes him look intimidating to all,
He does what he wants, he doesn’t care, if he has to he’ll break the law,
Another feature on my dog Max is his cool corkscrew tail,
He is always tough and never, ever let’s out a wail,
When it comes to food he’ll eat anything, except the occasional chip,
I have yet to teach him to flex, but I know he is pretty darn ripped,
His favorite food of all, is by far his peanut butter,
If he’s hungry he always begs me, he knows not to mess with my mother,
Maximus is the greatest dog I could ever ask for,
Protecting the family, and if a squirrel comes, letting out a great roar,
Squirrels fear him and birds the same, Max is fierce and quick,
He is also the dishwasher for our family, he uses his powerful lick.
