I’ve been working on these during Spring Break because I’ve got to make an inventory to sell at the Des Moines Arts Festival this June. Last year I did a research project about dreams for one of my studios, and after recording the content of my dreams over the span of a few months, it became clear that I have a recurring dream that my teeth fall out. It’s never the same dream, and sometimes they all fall out, and sometimes they just get chipped, but it’s a repetitive theme. For class, we had to create some pieces of art to relate to our research findings. I did this piece.I am in the process of exploring this theme a bit further, which is why I’ve been painting creepy mouths and jacked-up teeth all break. :)I’m pretty self-conscious that I’ve been painting such creepy things, but it’s kind of fun, so whatevski. I’m not completely satisfied with them, and I’m considering tossing the third. In any case, I would greatly appreciate some feedback/criticism if you have any… even if you know nothing about art. I need an interweb critique, babiez.sarah.achtemeier@gmail.com
