My most recent painting.
We were given a 2x3” black and white xerox copy of this picture and we had to paint it 30x40” in the colors of Rembrandt or Caravaggio. I sort of despised this assignment. I am so uninspired by still lifes, yet our professors feel that they are the best way to judge what kind of skills we have at this point. I felt that mine was mediocre. I got a B+. It could use some more work, but I am quitting.
When will we get to use our real talent?
