Suppose your trip ends up being far better or far worse than you envisioned in your novel.
Will you feel unfulfilled because you either:
1) …were unable to include some of the most unsuspected, yet epic, adventures of the actual trip due to the limitations of foresight
2) …limited yourself on the actual trip in order to stay as close to the story-line as possible
OR
Would you re-write an appended version of your novel after the trip, perhaps reflecting on your ‘experiment’, or in an effort to integrate the two stories with one another?
