So as I was going through my old photos I came across my grandparents’ wedding photo. I never realized how pretty it was. When I’m older I am definitely going to hang this up in my house so my grandchildren can see it. It’s so beautiful. :)

A few weeks ago I saw him perform in an abandoned high school on a teeny-tiny island on the French Broad River in the middle of mountain nowhere. It was as magical as it sounds.
I felt like he was singing straight at me……. but 300 other people probably felt that way, too.
I’ve been taking a knitting class in preparation for the impending Appalachian winter. Living in Austin for two years turned me into a seasonal sissy…. I’ve got to get my snow legs back. Finished my first project last night— a cowl-neck scarf. Check it.

In early 2010, Rob Gorski, Emergency Physician and friend of Cabin Porn, purchased Rabbit Island: a 90-acre island on Lake Superior situated 3 miles off the Michigan shore. With the aid of friends, including Andrew Ranville, and the support of the Kickstarter community, he’s spent the last two summers building an Adirondack-style shelter there, the beginnings of his vision to develop the remote island into an off-grid artist residency.
