It's a Dragon Age Origins kind of Thanksgiving...
Mom: Who wants pie?
Dad: I do!
Josh: Not yet, I'm still too full.
Dad: Josh, when did you become such a wussy?
Josh: I'm not a wussy. My warrior could destroy your Mage anyday!
Dad: I have a good Mage! He defeated Ulrich the Crusher! I just kept casting paralysis spells on him, and then I would run away out of his reach over and over until he blew up.
Josh: That's cool Dad. Except you're on 'casual' difficulty. Heh.

Sarah: I just had a dream about you.  I was taking a music course, and you were the TA. You gave us a quiz the first day on black construction paper, and we had to write with white crayon. China baby
Me: Did I tell you my roommate eats baby food?
Abbas: hahaha nooooooo. really? Gerber baby food?
Me: Yes, she eats baby food... not like only baby food... but she has baby rice cereal powder mix, and 'Graduates' cookies, which are like snacks for toddlers. I don't understand.
Abbas: Maybe she's got a tender stomach? and can't handle grown-up foods?
Me: That could be. But my theory is that Chinese people just really like cute things. like babies. and they want to be cute. just like babies. so they eat baby food.
Abbas: Hmmm. possible. Like how cavemen wanted to be strong like lions so they would eat their hearts and stuff like that.
Me: yeah
Abbas: hope she doesn't eat any babies.
Me: Oh man, yeah

Daddy-o is at it Again
Yesterday my dad made a presentation at the Covenant Network Conference in Cleveland.  The Covenant Network is an advocacy group in the church that has been fighting for equality for gays and lesbians for quite a while. While his speech was devoted to persuading the church, it touched on an issue that Tim and I were discussing a few weeks ago:  Labels.  When one labels them self (in my...

Why Lifestyle Design is Self Indulgent
by Carl Nelson The lifestyle design community and freedom creation is focused on muses, internet marketing, passive income streams, life hack tricks, productivity tools and location independence. It’s a bit self-indulgent if you ask me. Personal development and the confidence it creates is at the heart of any meaningful act in the world but it easily slips into greed for self-improvement. ...
